FATHER RUDY’S CORNER
Advent is a time to grow in
faith, express thankfulness and embrace service. This Third Sunday of Advent is
called “GAUDETE” a word from Latin which means joy. The time is close and we
are waiting with great anticipation, hope, and joy for His coming. As Saint
Paul in the letter to the Philippians 4:4-5 says: “Rejoice in the Lord always;
again I say, rejoice. Indeed, the Lord is near.” Let us take the challenge and
accept the call of John the Baptist to prepare the way of the Lord.

Thanks to Desmond Pierre for
planning the wonderful Holy Hour, last Wednesday, December 4th, with the
Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament for the recovery of our Pastor Fr. Rudy. He
was informed of this and he is very grateful to each one of us who has participated
in the prayer service. His message last week to all the parishioners was to let
us know that he has been going through a very difficult time, but ‘Thanks Be To
God’ and with the help of our prayers, he has seen the light at the end of the
tunnel. He is slowly recuperating and doing much better each day. Please continue
to pray for him so that he will be with us soon.

This past Thursday, December 12th,
we had the Mass in Honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Our many thanks go to
everyone who has worked in the preparation and the celebration of this Feast,
whom has been acclaimed as
"Queen of Mexico", "Patroness of the Americas",
"Empress of Latin America", and "Protectress of Unborn Children"
(title given by Pope John Paul II in
1999). Under this title, she was
also proclaimed "Heavenly Patroness of the Philippines" in 1935, a
designation revised by Pope Pius XII in 1942.
We are grateful for the work and
the dedication that tooth place in organizing this event with great love and
devotion to the Blessed Mother. May Our Lady of Guadalupe obtain for us from
her Son, the grace of keeping our faith, the sweet hope in the midst of the trials
of life, the burning love for one another and the precious gifts of obedience
and perseverance in the Christian way of life.

El Adviento es un tiempo para
crecer en la fe, expresar gratitud y aceptar el servicio. Este Tercer Domingo
de Adviento es llamado “GAUDETE” que significa alegría. El tiempo está cerca y
nosotros estamos esperando con gran anticipación, esperanza y alegría Su
vanidad. Así como San Pablo en la carta a los Filipenses 4:4-5 dice: “alégrense
siempre en el Señor; se los repito otra vez, alégrense. El Señor está cerca.”
Aceptemos el reto y la invitación de Juan el Bautista “a preparar el camino del
Señor.”

Gracias a Desmond Pierre por
organizar la maravillosa Hora deOración, el Miércoles 4, de Diciembre, con la
Exposición del Santísimo Sacramento por la recuperación de nuestro Padre
párroco Rudy. Él fue informado y Él está muy agradecido de todos los que
participaron en el servicio de Oración. También el Padre Rudy les mando un
mensaje la semana pasada a toda la comunidad parroquial diciéndonos que ha
tenido un tiempo difícil, pero gracias a Dios y a la ayuda de nuestra oración
Él ha podido ver al final del túnel la luz. Él está mejorando cada día pero nos
pide que continuemos orando por su pronta recuperación.

Este pasado Jueves, 12 de
Diciembre tuvimos la Misa en Honor de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, muchas
gracias a cada uno que trabajo en la preparación y la celebración de esta
Fiesta, quien ha sido aclamada como “Patrona de México”, “Patrona de las
Américas”,
“Emperatriz de América Latina”, y
“Protectora de los Niños que no han Nacido” (título que fue dado por el Papa
Juan Pablo II en 1999). Por sobre este título, ella fue también proclamada
“Celeste Patrona de las
Filipinas” en 1935, designación que fue revisada por el Papa Pio XII en 1942.
Estamos agradecidos a todos por
el trabajo y la dedicación en la organización de este evento con gran amor y
devoción a la Santa Madre de Dios. Que Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, nos obtenga
de su Hijo la gracia de mantener
nuestra fe, la dulce esperanza en medio de las dificultades de la vida, un ardiente
amor por cada uno de nosotros y el precioso don de la obediencia y la
perseverancia en el camino de la vida Cristiana.
