Wednesday - Easter Weekday

Psalm 34:1-3 "I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul makes its boast in the Lord; let the humble hear and be glad. O magnify the Lord with me and let us exalt His name together."

Feast of Saint Catherine of Sienna

Psalm 93:1-2 "The Lord is King, He is robed in majesty.  The Lord is robed, He is girded in strength. He has established the world; it shall never be moved; Your throne is established from of old; You are from everlasting."

Second Monday Of Easter

In John 3, Nicodemus asked if a person had to re enter their mother's womb to be born again. Jesus answered him in verses 5 and 6 "Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and spirit.  What is born of the flesh is flesh and what is born of the Spirit is spirit."

Divine Mercy Sunday

Through the course of my life, I've heard many say that their inability to see God caused them not to believe in Him.  Following the Ressurection, the apostle Thomas was also filled with doubt when told that the others had seen Jesus.  After the Lord appeared to him, he said "Have you come to believe because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed."

Saturday Within The Octave Of Easter

In Acts 4:29-30, Peter and John, though warned by the elders, rulers, and scribes, prayed with other believers, "And now Lord, look at their threats, and grant to your servants to speak your Word with all boldness, while you stretch out your hand to heal, and signs and wonders are performed through the Name of Your Holy Servant Jesus."

Verse 31 goes on to state that after they had prayed, they were filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the Word of God with boldness. The Lord would desire that we, His children, continue to walk in that determination as we minister the things of Him to a dying world.

Friday Within The Octave Of Easter

Jesus died for our sins and it is through Him alone that we have salvation. In Acts 4:12, Peter
informed the members of the council "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name in Heaven given among morals by which we must be saved."

Thursday Within The Octave Of Easter

Acts 3:14-15 "But you rejected the Holy and Righteous One and asked to have a murderer given to you, and you killed the Author of life, whom God raised from the dead. To this we are witnesses."

Wednesday Within The Octave Of Easter

Luke 24:31-34 "Then their eyes were opened, and they recognized Him, and He vanished from their sight. They said to each other 'Were not our hearts burning within us while He was talking to us on the road, while He was opening the scriptures to us?' That same hour they got up and returned to Jerusalem; and they found the eleven and their companions gathered together. They were saying 'The Lord had risen indeed, and He has appeared to Simon!'"

Tuesday Within The Octave Of Easter

God calls us into new life through His baptism.  In Acts 2, Peter addressed the Israelites with the message of our Savior.  It is noted in verse 37: "Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and to the other apostles "Brothers, what should we do?"  And Peter replied in verse 38: "Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ so that your sins may be forgiven: and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."

Monday Within The Octave Of Easter

Jesus Died In Order That We May Live

"This Man, handed over to you according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and killed by the hands of those outside the law.  But God raised Him up, having freed Him from death, because it was impossible for Him to be held in its power."  Acts 2:23-24 -

Easter Sunday - He Has Risen!

Matthew 28:1-6 "Now after the sabbath, toward the dawn of the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb. And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled back the stone, and sat upon it. His appearance was like lightening, and his clothing white as snow. And for fear of him, the guards trembled and became like dead men. But the angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid; for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for He has risen, as He said. Come and see the place where he lay."

He has risen! With those words and His sacrifice, we have access to a covenant replete with His promises.

He has risen! With those words, we have the gift of eternal life and will reign with Him forever.
