Fr. Rudy's Corner: Oct. 20, 2013

Dearest friends:

What a wonderful day we had last Sunday! A Mass filled with cultural diversity, beautiful music, Cardinal Egan who left so impressed with our community; and then a magnificent luncheon with great food, music and a wonderful sense of community, with everyone working together and having fun. So many thanks to all who participated, supported and attended our 89^th anniversary celebration. We hold dear to our hearts the commission which Cardinal Egan imposed upon us: “to bring others to our church and fill its pews by 2014, when we celebrate our 90th anniversary. YOU, do your part then and if we can all take this command seriously, we can certainly pack our beautiful church in one year. We are not just a closed existing family, but we are a family open to the presence of anyone whom the Lord sends our way to invite in. Surely we will encounter many brothers and sisters in our path whom we can bring to OLG. May the blessings we received last Sunday be in your hearts as you read this message. We wish all of our parishioners who are leaving on Pilgrimage to the Holy Land

this week with Father Felix Gonzalez, a wonderful trip and experience. We

count on your prayers for us and we will pray for you as well. May love surround

you, and may the Lord make Himself known to you in a very special way there.

 

MAKING ALL THINGS NEW

God our Father, through the Gospel and the Eucharist, You bring us together as

Your Church in the Archdiocese of new York. Send us Your Holy Spirit, to

enlighten our minds and guide our actions as we plan for the future of parish life in

this Archdiocese. Help us learn new ways to strengthen and revitalize our parish

communities, and to be good stewards of the spiritual and material gifts that

sustain them. Bless our work, so that our parishes may continue to witness to the

truth of the Gospel, and be a sign of Your love for all people. We ask this through

Christ our Lord. Amen

Queridísimos amigos:

Que maravilloso día hemos tenido el pasado Domingo! Una Misa llena con diversidad cultural, bella música, el Cardenal Egan quien se quedó muy impresionado con nuestra comunidad; y luego el magnífico almuerzo con buena comida, música y un maravilloso sentido de comunidad, con cada uno trabajando juntos y divirtiéndose. Por tanto muchas gracias a todos los que participaron, apoyaron y asistieron a nuestra celebración del 89 aniversario. Nosotros mantenemos en muy alta estima la tarea que el Cardenal Egan impuso sobre nosotros: “de traer a otros a nuestra iglesia y llenar los bancos para el 2014, cuando nosotros celebramos nuestro 90 aniversario.

TU, has tu parte y así entonces si podemos todos tomar este mandato seriamente, podemos ciertamente llenar nuestra bella iglesia en un ano. Nosotros no somos solo una cerrada familia existente., sino que somos una familia abierta a la presencia de cada uno a quién el Señor envía en nuestro camino para invitarlo.

Seguramente nosotros vamos a encontrar muchos hermanos y hermanas en nuestro camino a quienes nosotros podemos traer a NUESTRA SENORA DE LA GRACIA. Que las bendiciones que hemos recibido este pasado Domingo este en sus corazones así como usted lee este mensaje. Que tenga una semana bendecida!!

HACIENDO TODAS LA COSAS NUEVAS

Dios Nuestro Padre, a través del Evangelio y la Eucaristía, Tu nos reúnes como Tu Iglesia en la Arquidiócesis de Nueva York. Envíanos tu Espíritu Santo, para que ilumine nuestras mentes y guie nuestras acciones así como nosotros planificamos

el futuro de la vida parroquial en esta Arquidiócesis. Ayúdanos a aprender nuevos caminos para fortalecer y revitalizar nuestras comunidades parroquiales, y ser buenos servidores de los dones espirituales y materiales que los sostienen.

Bendice nuestro trabajo, para que nuestras parroquias puedan continuar el testimonio de la verdad del Evangelio, y sean un signo de Tu amor para todo el pueblo. Te lo pedimos, por Jesucristo nuestro Señor. Amen.

 

Le deseamos a los feligreses que se van en Peregrinaje a la Tierra Santa con el Padre Félix Gonzalez, un viaje maravilloso. Por favor oren por nosotros y haremos lo mismo por ustedes. Que Amor los rodee, y que verdaderamente sientan la presencia de Dios allí.
